Town Park

Devil’s Lake

It goes without saying that Devil’s Lake State Park is one of the area’s most well-known destinations. From camping and swimming to ice fishing and snowshoeing, Devil’s Lake offers something for everyone. While it is located in the Town of Baraboo, it is managed by the State of Wisconsin and a Vehicle Admission Sticker is required for entry.

Giese Park

Located at the intersection of Hatchery Road and Rock Hill Road, this quiet park offers a picnic table, grill, Baraboo river acess, and portable restrooms during summer months. Park hours are 6am – 10pm. No overnight camping. Operated by the township of Baraboo.

Great Sauk State Trail

With portions of the Great Sauk Trail already complete in our neighboring communities of Prairie du Sac and Sauk City, the Town of Baraboo is excited to be involved in planning the Baraboo segment of this multi-purpose trail. Future routes through Baraboo have not been finalized, so please stay tuned!

Mcgilvra Woods State Natural Area

McGilvra Woods is one of the richest southern mesic forests in southwestern Wisconsin and is noted for its display of spring wildflowers.  Parking lot off Farview Rd, North Freedom, WI, 53951 no admission fees or restroom facilities.

Pewits Nest  State Natural Area

The dominant feature at Pewits Nest is a 30- to 40-foot-deep gorge and waterfalls  formed during the retreat of the last glacier. Associated with it are Skillet Creek, shaded cliffs, and a northern dry-mesic pine forest. Parking lot off Highway W, Baraboo, WI, 53913 no admission fees or restroom facilities.
